The Apple Watch certainly has a range of interesting features for users, but watching YouTube content is not one of them. Or at least it wasn’t, considering there’s now a new app available that lets you do just that.
The new Apple Watch app from WatchTube allows users to use their Apple smartwatch to watch YouTube content directly. The app works on all devices running watchOS 6 or higher and can be downloaded from the App Store.
For now, WatchTube allows users to search for videos, check the history, description, and even like videos. The content is played on the small screen of the device, and the interface is also adapted for this.
The developers say that in the future they hope to launch an audio mode that will allow content to be played in the background even when the watch screen is off.
An important feature will be that users will be able to generate QR codes from videos directly from the application to quickly share them with third parties or even continue watching on a smartphone.
This app is certainly not intended to replace using YouTube on your smartphone, but it can be a fun way to quickly browse some content or even continue playing a song without using your smartphone.
