“These women were ahead of their time, they could not be understood”: Dos comes to the cinema this week at Bem Bom – Current Events

Bem Bom, a film about four women from the most popular Portuguese girl group and their influence in the 1980s, was one of last year’s movie stakes but was delayed due to COVID-19. It will finally hit theaters this Thursday, July 8th.

The film, produced by Santa Rita Filmes, received MEO support as part of a commitment to “spread existing talent outside the door and preserve Portuguese cultural heritage”.

Bringing life to the iconic quartet so popular in the 1980s with themes such as “Ok, Ko”, “Ali Babá”, “Quente, Quente, Quente”, “Sweet” or “Amanhã de Manhã” is Carolina Carvalho (for example, as Lena Coelho), Barbara Branco (Fatima Padinha), Leah Carvalho (Teresa Miguel) and Ana Marta Ferreira (Laura Diogo).

Directed by Patricia Sequeira, who signed Snu in 2019, about the love story between Snu Abecassis and Francisco Sá Carneiro.

In addition to the renowned Jogo de Damas (2015), the director also has a very extensive program of series and telenovelas with titles such as Conta-me Como It Was, Vila Faia, Laços de Sangue. , “Rose Fogo”, “After Farewell” and “Sea Salgado”.

Following the film, which culminates in Doce’s victory at the Festival da Canção, the story continues in the seven-episode RTP1 series.
