The European Union has focused its efforts on renewable energy sources to reduce our dependence on Russia. It is now known that China also has a colossal project: to break its own record by giving birth to the world’s largest wind farm.

The energy generated by this project will be able to power 13 million homes.

Although it is one of the most polluting countries in the world, China is not east of renewable energy. After all, it accounts for 25% of the world wind energy and, at the same time, is one of the world leaders in this field.

Now or 14th five-year plan for Chaozhou, China's Guangdong province, was launched a few days ago and announced the city's ambitious plans for a project in the Taiwan Strait. The topographic characteristics of the region and the windy location will allow the turbines to operate from 43% to 49% of the time, that is, from 3800 to 4300 hours per year. The work will begin "before 2025", and upon completion, the world's largest wind farm will be built.

Offshore exploration will be the largest in the world when it delivers a planned capacity of 43.3 gigawatts (GW). Currently, this award belongs to the Jiuquan Wind Power wind farm in China, which has a capacity of 20 GW.

According to euronews, the wind farm's 43.3 GW capacity could power 13 million homes. By 2025, China plans to get a third of its electricity from renewable sources.

We will work actively and prudently to meet our carbon peak and carbon neutrality targets.

This was stated on October 16 by Chinese President Xi Jinping, speaking at a party congress.
