UThe 33-year-old woman, who spent seven weeks in a coma after being beaten by Covid-19 in the UK, woke up to find that she had become the girl’s mother two months earlier.

The Metro newspaper reported on Monday that Laura Ward became infected while she was pregnant. Her health deteriorated to the point that she had to take a sedative and have an emergency caesarean section when she was only 31 weeks old.

The girl was born weighing just over 1.5 kg, but luckily, after spending more than five weeks at the Royal Bolton Hospital in the UK, she gained weight and remained in good health.

Laura, who had no health problems other than gestational diabetes, was not vaccinated against Covid-19 because Covid-19 vaccination was not recommended for pregnant women in the UK at the time. When it became available, it was already too late. The teacher has already caught the disease.

After spending seven weeks in a coma, Laura woke up to a new life with Hope on September 30th. [Esperança, em português] next to you. At that time, I could only shake and nod.

Two weeks later, she began to recover her speech and learn the most basic things, such as holding her daughter, eating alone, brushing her teeth, etc. The most difficult task, which is still being worked on, is standing up straight.

Regardless, Laura is returning home today to make up for all the time Covid-19 has taken from her, not only with Hope, but also with her other children and her husband John.
