The Witcher 3 Next-Gen patch fixes famous inside joke

With the release scheduled for the end of December, a new generation patch The Witcher 3 promises to bring several visual and gameplay improvements over the version released there in mid-2015.

Well, in addition to the innovations that follow next-gen console hardware, the next-gen version of The Witcher 3 put an end to an unfunny inside joke—at least for Yennefer.

In one of the missions The Witcher 3, Destination: Skellige, Geralt receives the key to his inn from Yennefer – Yennefer is one of the many novels the witcher has in the game. So far so good, what spawned a lot of memes at the time is that such a key is marked in the inventory with a simple “general item”.

At that time, the consequences were so great that even a mod was created that changed the rarity of the item, leaving it worth 100,000 coins.

Now CD Projekt Red has decided to squash the meme and give a little more meaning to Yennefer’s feelings, though the Witcher will never follow suit. In the new generation version The Witcher 3The “Key to Yennefer’s Room” item obtained in the “Destination: Skellige” quest has been changed to “relic”, a description used to refer to the rarest and most valuable items in the game.

New generation version The Witcher 3 released December 14th.
