If you miss the weekend without topping up your deposit, particularly if you have a diesel car in your hands, don’t be surprised to pay more from this Monday: According to a source at Multinews, one of the main national oil companies: euro points to a sharp increase of 7 cents per liter of diesel fuel. Gasoline 95, on the contrary, will fall in price by 0.5 cents per liter.

Filling station prices next to hypermarkets will follow the market trend: “a slight decrease of 0.0017 euros for petrol, a trend not repeated for diesel, with a sharp increase of 0.0583 euros,” another source said.

Thus, from Monday, filling a tank with 60-liter diesel fuel will cost 4.2 euros more, and the bill for 95th petrol will be reduced by 30 cents.

In the last few weeks, there has been a decline in fuel prices, while gasoline and diesel fuel in Ukraine are already being sold at pre-war prices. A trend that will be broken this week.

Diesel, which had seen nine consecutive weeks of declines from €1.959/litre to €1.554 in the same period of time, reducing the 60-litre tank bill by €26.76, rose significantly again in the week leading up to Christmas. . Gasoline 95, which in the past two months has reached 1889 euros per liter, this week costs 1586 euros, which is equivalent to filling a tank of 60 liters was 18.54 euros cheaper at that time.

Data from the Directorate General of Energy and Geology (DGEG) shows that the average price of a liter of diesel fuel in Portugal is currently 1,554 euros per liter, while the price of 95-liter gasoline is 1,586 euros. The latest European Commission Fuel Bulletin lists Portugal as the 14th most expensive petrol out of 95 of the 27 countries in the European Union. Diesel is in 4th position in the European ranking among the cheapest fuels.

According to European data, the prices for diesel fuel and gasoline 95 in Portugal are lower than the European average, set at 1.729 and 1.653 euros respectively.
