The tragedy of Pedrogan Grundy in the new short film by Leonardo DiCaprio

The American artist has directed the short film From the Breath of the Devil, which tells the story of the fires in Pedrogan Grande in the summer of 2017.

This short film is part of the documentary series Tipping Point, which explores the events that are leading to rapid changes on planet Earth.

Actor, producer and environmentalist Leonardo DiCaprio is directed by Briton Orlando von Einsiedel, who won the 2017 Best Documentary Short Film Oscar for White Helmets.

The documentary tells in the first person two stories that converge: the survivors of the fire that devastated Pedrogan Grande in 2017 and their struggle to make sure something like this never happens again, as Nadia Piazza and Vitor Neves did, who reconstructed his life after the tragedy; and a groundbreaking scientific discovery that can help people protect themselves from a climate emergency.

The documentary was announced yesterday, although DiCaprio talked about the work in a meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres during the 26th UN Climate Summit in Glasgow, Scotland. The artist hopes this short film will wake people up and make them act so that the future can be remade.

Devil’s Breath still has no Portuguese premiere date.
