In its 24th edition, the traditional launch event TGI Agenda: Panel 2023 brings as a theme “Post-election future” with a panorama including global aspects and forecasts for Brazil, Pernambuco and Recife under social, political and economic scenarios from 2023.

The event was led by the architect and business strategy consultant Consultoria TGI, Francisco Cunhaand held in partnership with Revista Algomais, will take place on Tuesday (22) at RioMar Theater, in the area of Pina, in the southern zone of Recife. The evening will also feature Fabio Menezes, partner of TGI.

“We have made an assessment that starts first with the world and the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, then with Brazil, Pernambuco and Recife. In the case of Brazil and Pernambuco, our outlook is under a new administration,” Cunha said. about what to present to the local business community in his lecture.

On the national stage, next to the third term of the elected president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT)of great concern is the jump in public debt relative to GDP, whose specialists point to an increase of four percentage points.

On the recent debate about the priority of social programs and, accordingly, the efforts of the transition team of the new government in an attempt to approve the call Transitional PEC – which provides for the withdrawal Bolsa Surname cost ceiling – Francisco Cunha believes that the estimated cost of 200 billion reais was set to allow negotiations to reach an agreement.

“They already have several parallel PECswhich talk about 85 billion reais and 70 billion reais, these are big negotiations to resolve the issue of responsibility next year, and this is very important. During this transition, at the suggestion of President-elect Lula, it became clear that they were bringing social responsibility to the forefront and only talking about financial responsibility,” he said.

“During these debates, we came to the conclusion that at the end of conversations and discussions there is no social responsibility without financial responsibility, and vice versa. And this is new in the national debate and open to public opinion,” he added.

CHALLENGES FOR PERNAMBUCO AND RECIFE

Predictions made for the new government of Pernambuco, which will have an elected governor Raquel Lyra (PSDB)as of January 1, 2023, are viewed with optimism, according to Francisco Cugna.

He points out that the former mayor of Caruaru and his vice-governor Priscilla Krause (citizenship), will inherit the state with the lowest level of debt in 21 years. The Ministry of Finance has already announced that the Pernambuco government will be able to take out loans worth more than 7 billion reais for infrastructure investment.

At the same time, the main task of the new leadership will be to lay the foundations for a qualitative leap, capable of adapting the model of the state’s economic development to new and aggravated political, social and environmental requirements.

“We see that it has been done fiscal effort which coincided with the pandemic, so during the pandemic, the state made additional efforts to pay off debts and prepare for taking new loans. And with an increase in debt capacity, the next government will have the financial conditions to adequately meet the needs, which are very large,” the TGI consultant noted.

For the third year as mayor of Recife, Joao Campos (PSB)Francisco Cunha draws attention to the fact that climate change has increased the urgency of investing in the city’s urbanization, recalling the tragedy of heavy rains that hit the capital Pernambuco in May this year.

Member Strategic Council for Economic and Social Development (CEDES), he highlighted the announcement of the approval of a loan of 1.5 billion reais by the Recife City Hall with the IDB (Inter-American Development Bank) to invest in areas with populations at risk.

“There are over 30 communities that will benefit from these resources. Today we visited the community of Irma Dorothy in Imbiribeira, which will be the first community to benefit from these resources, mainly urbanization, regularization of land tenure. This is very positive for our city,” he said.
