A priest from the Diocese of Prato, Italy, was arrested last week on suspicion of using believers’ donations to buy large quantities of drugs and organize an orgy.
Francisco Spagnesi’s 40-year-old father was arrested and charged with buying half a kilo of cocaine and GBL, a substance known as the “rape drug,” for personal use and orgy use.
The arrest took place after the police caught an accomplice who was transporting drugs from Holland. According to local police, the priest bought the medicine with the money of the faithful and justified the leakage of accounts with the help of “needy people in the parish.”
According to local media reports, the drug, which he smuggled in with the help of a Tuscan criminal group, will be used in orgies, which he organizes through sex dating sites, in which more than 200 people have participated.
Bishop Prato Giovanni Nerbini expressed his sadness after learning the news and said that he already knew about the psychological problems of the priest. When he realized that, in addition to psychological problems, the priest was also addicted to drugs, he fired him in order to focus on rehabilitation.
