Almihan Seichi, the oldest person in the world, died on December 16 at the age of 135. According to the authorities, the Chinese woman died “peacefully” surrounded by family members.

A woman from Xinjiang, western China said she was born on June 25, 1886 and married in 1903, adopted a girl and boy with her husband, who died in 1976, and watched six generations and descendants grow up. Had 43 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Almihan was declared the oldest living person in China in 2013 by the China Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics.

Kuerban Nuer, grandson and chief caregiver of the elderly, said that the grandmother was healthy before her death with days full of music before bed: “When I listened to music on the radio before bed, my legs followed the rhythm.”

The woman had government-issued identity documents confirming that her date of birth was in the late 19th century, but there were also those who were skeptical about her longevity due to the precarious conditions in which the records were kept at the time.

The village of Komuherik, from which it arose, is called by some experts “the city of longevity”, since dozens of elderly people aged 90 and older live in this area.

Despite this, not a single investigator, including representatives of the Guinness Book of Records, was able to independently verify the age of a woman who, after being checked, would turn out to be the oldest person in the world.

Now the place is taken by the Japanese Kane Tanaka, born in January 1903, almost 119 years old, who has already defeated cancer twice.
