The Indiana Crossroads Wind Farm, which opens in White County, about an hour's drive from Indianapolis, will have the capacity to generate 302 megawatts (MW) of electricity per year, the equivalent of 80,000 local homes. Lusa discloses, the company said.

This is the largest EDP Renováveis ​​project to date. The construction and development work is part of a transfer and construction agreement with the Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) distributor.

Speaking to Lusa News Agency, Miguel Stilwell de Andrade, executive chairman of EDP and EDP Renováveis, said the Indiana wind farm is a "good example" of the company's investment in the United States, "the largest individual market."

By 2025, the company intends to build infrastructure in the United States with a capacity of 2 gigawatts per year, and more than 1.5 GW is planned for next year. The partnership between EDP Renováveis ​​and NIPSCO, a leading company in Indiana and Ohio, has already resulted in four renewable energy projects totaling over 800 MW for the equivalent of 200,000 homes.

Wind farms by EDP Renováveis ​​are generating "economic benefits" of tens of millions of dollars for the entire state of Indiana with "job creation", "payments to landowners and local governments" and increased costs. from customers to local businesses, support EDP and NIPSCO.
