UOn Friday evening, an assassination attempt was made on a judge of the Supreme Court of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic. This was announced by the pro-Russian leader of the region Denis Pushilin, who blamed the Kyiv regime for the attack.

“The Ukrainian regime continues to demonstrate its heinous terrorist methods”, — Pushilin began on the Telegram platform. “Last night, November 4, an attempt was made in Uglegorsk [de homicídio] with the use of firearms against the judge of the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People’s Republic Alexander Anatolyevich.

The pro-Russian politician emphasized that “Alexander Anatolyevich pronounced sentences on Nazi war criminals.”

“Doctors assess his condition as stable. I wish you a speedy recovery,” he added.

The said judge was in charge of the trial of Britons Sean Pinner and Aiden Aslin and Moroccan Brahim Saadoun, who were charged in July with “taking part in hostilities as mercenaries” in Ukraine and sentenced to death.

The two Britons were living in Ukraine when the war broke out and were detained by Russian forces in April while defending Mariupol. Both have lived in Ukraine since 2018, 28-year-old Aslin has dual citizenship, and 48-year-old Pinner is married to a Ukrainian woman.

They were released in September under a prisoner exchange agreement between Ukraine and Russia and have since returned to the UK.
