The jet will pass the minicamp amid speculation of an NFL return

Jet will complete their virtual offseason program next week and will not conduct a direct minicamp this month, according to sources.

The NFL hasn’t cleared the team to hold minicamps, but there is speculation that they might try to collect later this month to hold some training. The Jets will finish with their virtual session next week and then regroup for the training camp, which is scheduled to begin in late July.

This offseason is unlike any other for the NFL team because the COVID-19 restrictions have made the team leave their training center. Usually, teams have offseason practices starting in April and continuing through June, ending with a three-day minicamp. This year, the team must hold a meeting via video conference.

The Jets begin their program on April 27 and will complete it next week. Jets Train in Florham Park, N.J. and their training center has not yet reopened. The NFL says there is a possibility the head coach will be allowed to return to team facilities this week and Governor Phil Murphy has given permission to the Jets and Giants to start reopening. The Jets said they would consult with the governor’s office and their medical staff to plan for a gradual reopening.

Even if some coaches and staff return to the facility immediately, it looks like the players will not return until the end of July.
