The decision to return spectators to professional football stadiums, announced this Friday by the League of Clubs, has yet to be made, a government official said.

The same source explained to Luce that there have been meetings between the Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP) and the Directorate General of Health (DGS) in preparation for next season, but a decision has yet to be made.

With regard to this step, any decision to return the public to sports venues must be made and announced after a meeting of the Council of Ministers.

The Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP) announced this Friday that professional competitions will start with a 33% chance of stadium capacity following meetings with the government and the DGS.

“After the meetings held in recent weeks with the government and the State Duma, today the norm that will apply to the return of the public to the stadiums was determined. After the struggle of the leadership of the League and the sports societies, it is with great satisfaction that we see the satisfaction of the demand of the Portuguese League and its partners for the return of fans to the stadiums, ”the organization said in a statement.

The League of Clubs, led by Pedro Proenza, explains that DGS will soon publish “all rules and conditions for public access to stadiums” agreed today with the League of Clubs, which kicks off professional competition with “a 33% venue capacity option”.
