O The group of immigrants who took advantage of the landing in Palma de Mallorca to try to escape the airport runway may have planned their escape via a Facebook group.

While the Spanish police continue to investigate the case and search for 12 fugitives, Efe had access to some of the publications of the group on this social network called “Brooklyn”, which includes thousands of young Moroccans.

A publication appeared in this group in July this year, which describes an action very similar to the one that took place at the Palma airport.

“Guys, listen, most of them want to emigrate. Follow this plan: we need 40 volunteers. Brooklyn boys are booking a plane to Turkey and flying over Spain, ”the message said, adding that the passenger would assume he was sick and that everyone would take the opportunity to escape.

“We will organize it in the coming days. Those interested can submit an application, ”the publication, analyzed by experts, concludes.

According to Efe, the “post” was made by a young man from Casablanca, who is the administrator of the group.

The idea would be to take advantage of this landing in Spain to illegally enter the country, taking advantage of the fact that Moroccans do not need a visa to travel to Turkey and that the flight between the two countries passes through Spanish airspace.

Recall that the incident occurred last Friday, at 19:00, when the plane of the Moroccan airline Air Arabia, flying from Casablanca to Istanbul, landed in the capital of the Balearic Islands to help a 32-year-old Moroccan passenger and a group of 24 took advantage of the situation to leave the plane., which even led to a halt in air traffic.

At the moment, 12 people have been detained, nine of whom tried to escape, one more – for an attempt to attack the civil security in the same plane, the passenger who asked for medical help, and the one who accompanied him. The Spanish police are still looking for the remaining 12 migrants.

Government delegate Aina Calvo said on Saturday that “all scenarios are open” and described the move as something that “never happened before” and “jeopardizes air traffic.”
