The first add-on for Horizon Chase 2 is out
Japan World Tour, first expansion Horizon Chase 2, now available on Apple Arcade. The content allows players to experience the culture and geography of the Land of the Rising Sun by racing through high-tech cities, mystical dojos, gardens, and dense forests.
Integrating the World Tour campaign, the expansion includes 11 new races (9 regular and 2 break pits) spread over 9 cities. There is also a new Dream car that will be unlocked after completing all the races in Japan. The car allows 3 bodywork and 6 paint jobs for customization.
Rodrigo Bellao, art director Horizon Chase 2emphasized the influence of Japanese culture and inspiration from real places to create 3 new tracks:
- Arakurayama Sengen Park: “The first track in Japan was designed to represent the traditions of the country, combining temple architecture with a vibrant backdrop, with an emphasis on Mount Fuji. amazing sunsets, carefully chosen to expand the horizons of the region.”;
- Akihabara: “There is a strong aesthetic connection between Japanese cities and 90s arcade racing games. To respect this heritage, we have paid great attention to the style of Akihabara. This is our tribute to the symbols of Eastern pop culture that inspire our team. Our intention was to portray a bright night, emphasizing the aesthetics of neon lights, giant robots and monsters.”;
- Mashu Lake: “Our goal with this track is to create an unforgettable moment for our players. Mainly because this is the last track on the World Tour, we wanted to offer something special to players who have completed the journey. We have improved the dynamic weather system and visuals to create a visually impressive racing experience with good gameplay.”
Horizon Chase 2 it is currently only available on Apple platforms. In 2023, the game will receive versions for consoles and PC.
