ABOUTThe keeper reports this Monday that a variant of the novel Delta coronavirus, first identified in India, has already been detected in at least 74 countries, posing some threat due to the speed with which it has been transmitted.
Boris Johnson said the delta variant of the virus is “spreading faster than anticipated” by the authorities in the decontamination plan announced in February, and that this is reflected in the number of hospitalizations.
Outbreaks of this strain have been confirmed in countries such as China, the United States, Africa or Scandinavia, according to the British newspaper, experts point out that the strain appears to be more transmissible and causes more severe symptoms of the disease.
Although health authorities around the world collect and share data on this option, there are concerns that monitoring is less effective in developing countries and the impact of the option may already be greater than reported.
Last week, Ashish Jha, dean of the Brown University School of Public Health, called the Delta variant “the most contagious we’ve ever seen.”
