The National Association of Football Coaches criticizes the APAF decision to include the FC Porto coach on the FPF Disciplinary Council

Hours after it became known that the APAF had introduced Sergio Conceição to the FPF Disciplinary Council, the National Football Coaches Association went public to support the FC Porto coach. “The National Football Coaches Association understands that, apart from an objective assessment of the (in) competence of any sports agent, whatever it may be, it falls under the right to an opinion, of course, within the framework of what is socially acceptable, in this particular case there is no reason to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the coach, ”the statement said.

As a reminder, the APAF, an association of Portuguese referees led by Luciano Gonçalves, has recruited Sergio Conceizão to the FPF Disciplinary Council. These are the statements of the FC Porto coach, which this Friday referred to the fact that Tiago Martins, VAR of FC Porto Pasos de Ferreira, from Ligue Bvin, did not overturn the decision of referee Manuel Mota, who in the last few moments was expelled from the game by Taremi for alleged pacing simulation.

ANTF NOTICE

“Having learned from the media about the intention of the Portuguese Association of Football Judges to file a complaint with the Disciplinary Council of the Portuguese Football Federation against coach Sergio Conceizao, the National Association of Football Coaches (ANTF) understands that, in addition to an objective assessment of the (in) competence of any sports agent, no matter how was subject to the right of opinion, of course, within the framework of what is socially acceptable, in which case there is no reason to impose a disciplinary procedure against the coach in question.

Moreover, football coaches are often the target of the famous “whipping” based on results and everything subjective that may exist, and not on their competence, unlike what happens in other sectors of society! In this sense, ANTF reserves the right, upon learning of the specific content of the aforementioned APAF participation, to take a further public position in defense of its member. “
