The 10th “Challenges of the Portuguese Sea” workshop focuses on art inspired by the sea

The 10th “Challenges of the Portuguese Sea” Seminar will take place on October 29 (Saturday) at the Maritime Museum of Ilhavu with the theme “From the Sea to Art”. The event is counted free of charge in the form of a short-term training (6 hours) for kindergarten teachers and teachers of all levels of education, with subsequent registration on the website of the District Training Center (here).

The theme is dedicated to the most diverse artistic expressions inspired by the sea and promotes cultural manifestations that reinforce and reaffirm the Portuguese maritime identity. “On October 29, everyone who is interested in maritime culture will meet again. This year, they will be joined by those who are interested in art, artistic creativity, as well as all who strive for scientific and cultural achievements through heritage,” the municipality of Ilhavu said in a press release.

The partners of the event are the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Center, CITCEM – Center for Interdisciplinary Studies “Culture, Space and Memory” of the University of Porto and the Institute of Art History of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the University. Nova de Lisbon.

The Desafios do Mar Português seminar, created in 2012, maintains its concept and strengthens its position year after year as the initiator of the debate on issues related to Portugal’s relationship with the sea.
