Tamar Braxton remembers the damaged perm which made her ‘bald like a mouse’

As the host of “To Catch a Beautician” from VH1, Tamar Braxton helped seek justice for victims of the salon disaster, with the help of celebrity hairdresser Johnny Wright.

And Braxton, 43, said he suffered his fair hair havoc.

“I remember one time [with] my brother Traci … there is a perm kit called the New Era. Those are three steps: application, neutralizer and conditioning section, “the star told Page Six Style. “Well, Traci ignored the neutralization part. She forgot to put the neutralizer in my hair and I’m bald like a mouse.”

Braxton continued, “I was 13 or 14 years old at the time and my hair wasn’t the same since then, to be honest. I feel that once you go through a chemical process like that, your hair will never return to normal. “

Of course, his decision to shave his hair in 2018 really made headlines. “My family really attacked me,” he recalled. “That was a natural reaction with my sister and sister. They are like, ‘Girl, what have you experienced? Are you alright? Do I need to come see you? Do you need help? When was the last time you ate? “I got all of it.”

But Braxton said the large chunks were not intended as shouts for help, but on the contrary. “When someone cuts their hair, it’s not always [because of] negative mental problems, “he said.

“Sometimes you have to build yourself up to get ready to fight the world. I used to feel pressured to find a certain way in Hollywood, but I don’t anymore. I think you can count on your talents and work ethic to speak for yourself; that’s what I do now. “

“To Catch a Beautician” airs every Monday at 9 p.m. ET on VH1.
