The runoff election for the governor of Espírito Santo was marked by some instances of betrayal, party infidelity, or simply a glaring inconsistency between the party’s official position and that of its affiliate.

Progressistas (PP) is part of the Casagrande coalition and has confirmed its support for the governor in the 2nd round. Federal MP Neusimar Fraga, party member since March, was also with Casagrande in the 1st round. But, in the first days of the second stage of the elections, having failed to get re-elected, he switched to the Manato platform.

The Christian Social Party (PSC), led in Espírito Santo by former MP Reginaldo Almeida, was neutral in the first round. In the 2nd, he announced formal support for Manato. But federal MP Loriete, who is linked to the party, chose to announce her affiliation with the Casagrande campaign. Lorieta also failed to renew his mandate in the House. She is Almeida’s ex-wife.

Vice Mayor of Vitoria Capita Estefane announced her support for Casagrande last Friday (14). She is affiliated with the Patriot Party, for which she also unsuccessfully fought for a seat in the Federal House. Hours later, State MP Rafael Favatto, president of Patriota in the state, announced that the party had joined the Manato platform. The next day, Estefan was already literally on the podium of Casagrande at a rally held in Vitoria.

There are still cases when politicians are balancing on a tightrope. Let the ex-secretary of the government of Cariasica Messias Donato say so. He was elected federal deputy with the great help of the mayor and political godfather Euclerio Sampaio (UB), one of Casagrande’s biggest allies. But his party, the Republicans, is at the core and in the coalition of Jair Bolsonaro (PL), in turn backed by Manato in Espírito Santo. Some party stars in the state, such as Eric Musso and Amaro Neto, have already announced that they are with Manato.

kaleidoscopic parade

The Casagrande coalition for the 2nd round is so, let’s say, multi-party that the section reserved for supporters in its telecasts attracted attention precisely because it showed in the same “parade” of politicians that you can hardly imagine seeing on the same sides. : undeniably right-wing politicians alternate with undeniably left-wing politicians.

On the same day, statements of support were shown on the same program by former Secretary of State for Public Security Alexandre Ramalho (Podemos), former Mayor of Vitoria Luis Paulo Velloso Lucas (PSDB), as well as former Mayor of Vitoria. João Coser (Portugal) and her daughter, Councilor Carla Coser (Portugal), as well as Elected Federal Deputy Gilson Daniel (Podemos).

Then, for those who didn’t think much, the next program went further: the speech of the Senator Marcos do Val (Podemos) was followed by the speech of the elected deputy of the state, Camila Valadao (Psol)! On the ideological map of Espírito Santo, this is like crossing the entire hemisphere during a TV show.

There were also testimonies from the singers Silva and Cayetano Veloso, the mayor of Vila Velha, Arnaldinho Borgo (Podemos), and the former mayor of Vitoria, Luciano Rezende (Citizenship).

Former mayors of the United States

Also live and in color, the incumbent governor spun some scenes from the series “You couldn’t even imagine that you would see this.” At the rally of popular movements in Vitoria last Saturday (15), he gathered around him on the same platform the three last mayors of Vitoria before Pasolini (Luis Paulo, Coser and Luciano) and, in addition, the current deputy mayor. Captain Stefan.

Who doesn’t remember the bitter 2012 Coser succession dispute between Luciano (winner), Luis Paulo and Irini López (Portugal)?

Vice Euclerio with Manate

Cariasiki’s deputy mayor, Nurse Edna (Patriot), closed Manato’s support, as did his party. She was the state’s nominee with 3,343 votes. The mayor of Euclerio, as above, is Casagrande. In other words, the situation is the opposite of that in Vitoria, where Mayor Pasolini opposes Casagrande and the Deputy Mayor supports the Governor.

God is for everyone

Last week, the Casagrande campaign announced its support for two major conventions of the Assemblies of God, a major Pentecostal denomination, in Espirito Santo: Cadeeso and Comadeeso.

Last Sunday (16) it was Manato’s campaign turn to announce support for the Brazilian General Assembly of the Assemblies of God (CGADB), led in the country by Pastor José Wellington Costa Jr., who asked for votes and prayers. for Manato, in a video recorded with Senator Magno Malta (PL).

Ricardo gets famous

It’s undeniable: Casagrande Lieutenant Governor candidate Ricardo Ferras (PSDB) gained much more visibility and prominence in the 2nd round, both on social media and at official campaign events. And not only inside. On the night of this Monday (17), together with Euclerio Sampaio, Ricardo gave a stormy speech at a big event in Cariasica.

In the afternoon, at a meeting organized by the Espírito Santo businessmen’s federations, he accompanied Casagrande and also talked and told the businessmen what their role would be in any new Casagrande government: “I will personally coordinate the economic development actions.”

New road and ICMS reduction

Also this Monday, at two different times, Casagrande made two new and relevant promises. In an interview with ES1, he said that if duplicating BR 262 takes too long to get a decision from the federal government, the state government could build a new road parallel to the highway to work like a binary: whoever climbs mountains will use BR, and those those who go down will go along the state road. This is for the collection if he wins.

In the afternoon, at a meeting organized by the federation of entrepreneurs capixabas, he announced the reduction of the ICMS rate on natural gas, which serves the industry, from 17% to 12%, in order to increase industrial production.
