Spain beat Portugal and retained the European title

This Saturday, Spain reaffirmed the European Women’s Roller Hockey Championship for the sixth time in a row, beating Portugal 5-3 in the European Championship final held in the municipal town of Pavillão do Luz in Meallada.

In an emotional game, which was watched in the stands by more than one and a half thousand people, the Spanish team was under very strong pressure on the track and after 15 minutes they won 4: 0.

The first goal three minutes later was scored by Aina Florenza, and a minute later Laura Puigdueta increased the advantage with an attacking move.

Sara Roses, Spain’s top scorer at this European Championship, increased the lead to 3-0 in the 13th minute with an excellent shot from the corner of the Portuguese goal.

The Spanish side, which now have seven European titles, scored 4-0 in the 15th minute of Marta Picero’s half-century shot.

The national team, the finalist of which has won the last five matches, reduced to 23 minutes thanks to Marlene Sousa.

Portugal looked much more dangerous in the second half, sending Spain halfway, and again scored in the 34th minute by Rita Batista in an excellent shot in the central zone.

A minute later, Spain increased the lead to 5-2 thanks to Sara Roses, the top scorer of the UEFA European Championship with 12 goals.

In the 43rd minute, the Portuguese national team reduced the score to 5: 3 at the expense of Maria Sophia Silva, completing a magnificent attacking move.

Three minutes before the end, the teams from the corners still took advantage of the free kick, punishing the Spaniards with the 10th foul, but in the implementation of Joan Teixeira he could not score.

Spain holds the record with seven titles including the last six, followed by Portugal with three, Italy and Germany with two, and France with a scepter.
