Leto Vidigal, coach of Moreirense, after losing to Mafra (1-3) in the 1/8 final of the Portuguese Cup:

[Comentário ao jogo]

– Deserved victory for Mafra. We cannot enter the game. The team is not used to the advantage. We didn’t know how to control the game even after a good recording. We have a lot of work ahead of us. The team was not a fighting team, it did not win fights. We must improve in order to grow and be more competitive.

[Consequências desta derrota diante de um adversário da II Liga?]

– This is an evolutionary process. It takes time. We had little time from game to game. We are working on a tactical organization, but there is no time for physical indicators. We have two more games before the end of the year, we need to rebuild the team so that it can compete. The team is not very competitive, wins few matches. Players should feel comfortable in leadership and not chase the ball. We need to be more competitive, look at our opponents and want to share the game. This did not happen today.

[Entrada de André Luís não deixou a equipa mais desequilibrada?]

– When you win 1: 0 out of numbers, it has more to do with the attitude of the players. The game was won by Mafra and well won. They were more motivated and more ambitious.

[Foi falar com os adeptos no final, o que lhes disse?]

– Fans are always right, you have to respect. We were not very competitive, we were not very solidary. Moreirense needs the players to change their attitude and take a different look at the project. I told the players that this way we are worthless, so Moreirense signed a contract with us.
