Skate 4 will be free and coming to mobile devices

Fourth game in the series To skateYes electronic artsit will simply be called “To skate.and it will be free to play. Sports sim creative director Chris “Kaz” Parry, who defined the first game in the franchise in more than a decade as a brand new game, shared the news.

According to developer Full Circle, To skate. it will not be a sequel, remake, reboot or remaster of the original game. Free to play, adventure aims for another EA hit, Apex Legends, as a source of inspiration for monetization. The information was released in the series’ premiere episode of The Board Room, in which the developers got together to take an inside look at the game’s development. Verify:

 

New To skate will have microtransactions to fund ongoing development. The Full Circle team promises that the store that accepts real money will consist of cosmetic items.

The game will debut on PC, as well as PlayStation and Xbox consoles with cross play e cross progression. A mobile version is also under development. The developers have not announced the release window of the game.

Fans will be able to register to test the game for pre-pre-alpha viewing. The new Skate has been officially confirmed in 2020 after a years-long campaign that saw fans of the franchise flood EA’s social media channels with the #skate4 hashtag. next year, 2021 EA has announced that it will comply with the requests and that Full Circle, led by former Xbox Live general manager Daniel McCulloch, would handle the project with Parry.

The last release of the franchise was Skate 3, 2010. The series was originally developed by EA Black Box in Vancouver. The studio became part of EA Canada and closed in 2013.
