December 19, 2021 marks the 130th anniversary of the founding (1891) and 63 years of the political and administrative emancipation (1958) of the organized and developed community of Sideopolis in the south of Santa Catarina.

In all accounts and historical records of the south of Santa Catarina, without exception, Sideopolis certainly has a privileged place in its composition, as it is responsible for important economic, cultural and social achievements throughout its history.

SIDEROPOLIS, HOLIDAY OF TRADITIONS 2010

Personally, when I was provoked and invited, I tried through professional services to somehow contribute to the advertising campaign of Siderópolis.

From 15 to 18 July 2010, under the leadership of the mayor of Douglas Glenn Varmling, the traditional XX party of the Sidepolis colonists was held. The organizing committee has organized an outstanding artistic program featuring regional and national attractions such as the singer Ivete Sangalo.

NOSSACASA / NC Brasil Feiras & Eventos was responsible for organizing and conducting an industrial and trade fair with the participation of 25 companies and organizations-participants.

The 20th Festa do Settler, held in 2010, was a preliminary and preparatory event for the next year’s celebration of the “120th anniversary of the founding of Sideopolis”.

SIDEROPOLIS, 120 YEARS OF THE FOUNDATION CELEBRATED IN 2011

In 2011, from December 7 to 23, Sideopolis / South Carolina Municipality celebrated “120 Years of Founding,” also led by Mayor Douglas Guing Varmling.

The community of today’s Sideopolis began its colonization in 1891 on the lands in the municipality of Urusanga by Italian immigrants from the regions of Venice, Treviso, Ferrara and Bergamo in Italy. In 1913 the village, which was then called Nova Belluno, was officially transformed into the Urusanga region.

On December 19, 1958, Nova Belluno, already known as Sideopolis, achieved political administrative liberation from Urusanga. On January 31, 1959, João Caruso MacDonald was appointed the first mayor of Sideopolis.

Sideopolis has a diversified production and economic performance, including agriculture, poultry, pig, fruit, mining, metal processing, chemical industry, PVC products, timber, gastronomy and ecological tourism, among which the Egidio Amboni Dam and Biological Reserve stand out.

NOSSACASA / NC Brasil Feiras & Eventos created and developed visual programming of the logo to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the founding of Sideopolis. The institutional and advertising partnership of the City Hall of Sideopolis and the Bureau of Conferences and Visitors of EMTURSUL Crisiuma and the region created and took over the implementation of the official program, which took place from December 7 to 23, 2011.

Musical and cultural attractions have been visited by local and regional artists such as Yasmine Burigo Ronsoni, Band The Dinz, Banda Vinyas, Jorge Nando and Banda, Suit de Reis no Comércio, Banda Dendura dos Deuses, Banda Matusa, Orchestra of Viola, Daniel Rosa and Gabriel , Grupo Musical Messages from Christ, Surf Trio Show, Patrick and Geovan, Jayto Luko, Nain Redensan, Felipe and Elon, with religious, country and rock artistic expressions.

In the central square of Sideopolis, opposite Igreja Matris, the Instituto São Pio X built Luzes and the Nativity scene, and Clube de Mães, Clube de Dirigentes Lojistas – CDL and Lions Clube de Siderópolis carried out promotional activities.

The celebrations marking the 120th anniversary of the founding of Sideopolis received important publicity support from the Funturismo of the Government of the State of Santa Catarina.

SIDEROPOLIS IN 2021

In terms of representative politics in the municipal executive, Mayor Franchi Salvao (PSDB) and Vice President Adriano Teixeira (PSDB) were elected in October 2020 with 3,924 votes or 45.20% of the valid votes. The mayor of Alemao, who handed over the keys to the municipality with a high popular approval rating during his 8 years in office, did not choose his successor. The elected Franca Salvao has the first and, basically, the surname, which in total gives the electoral dividends.
