“Unfortunately, she couldn’t win,” Jackson said. “In moments of pain you feel really powerless, you don’t know what to do, what to say.”
“Especially in these covid times, no one can prepare for the mourning of the border closure without being able to say goodbye or be present at the last moment. It’s quite difficult, ”he admitted.
So Jackson decided to celebrate this moment in a different way: to build a heart with his sheep – an idea that came up while feeding the animals with supplements, as they are “quite pregnant.” The final result came after “three or four tries”, some of which were quite unsuccessful.
“The first time I tried it, it really looked like a poop emoticon. And although my aunt Deb had a good sense of humor, it wasn’t quite what I wanted, ”he said.
After creating the heart, the video was shot with a drone and sent to her family in Brisbane to be shown at her aunt’s funeral. As you watch the sheep move, you hear Simon and Garfunkel’s theme “Bridge Over Muddy Waters.”
This was not the first time that a farmer had drawn shapes of food on the ground, which forced animals to gather at strategic points to create the intended pattern. However, it was a special project: a tribute to Aunt Deb.
