Mamie Mitchell, script director for Rust, was close to Galina Hutchins when tragedy struck. It was she who called 911 (the American emergency number) after Alec Baldwin accidentally shot the director of photography, who died on the same day, October 21st.

Now, Mitchell has filed a 29-page complaint filed in a Los Angeles courtroom against actor and producer Alec Baldwin, a production group, a 24-year-old gunsmith and other targeted individuals.

Baldwin is particularly harsh from the script director: “Deliberately, without good reason or excuse, he fired with a loaded gun, although the next scene to be filmed did not require shooting.”

In the submitted complaint, one can read that “Baldwin chose to play Russian roulette with a loaded gun without testing it or doing it.“.

According to Mamie Mitchell, the 63-year-old “veteran of the film industry” “should have assumed that the pistol was loaded, unless he was shown or confirmed that it was not.”

According to the director of the script, Baldwin “had no right to trust the alleged assistant director’s statement that it was a cold weapon. [sem munições]”.

This is why the actor says “You can’t hide behind an assistant director to apologize for not checking the gun.”

In the complaint, Mamie Mitchell complains of “great suffering” caused by the tragic episode that took place in established footage.
