Samsung to phase out ads in native apps on One UI

Users do not like to place ads on their smartphones, whether branded or accepted by applications. It has never been asked for and is often insulting and intrusive.

If there are brands that seem to be investing in this area, others like Samsung seem to be reversing the scenario. The South Korean brand has announced it will end ads in its own apps on One UI.

Typically, brands' decisions to place ads on their interfaces are discouraged. This has been happening for some time now, especially in the Android universe, where several brands have relied on this scenario.

A brand with Xiaomi, Realme or even Samsung has already been criticized several times for placing advertisements for services and even other equipment. Typically, these ads are present in the interfaces of brands' applications and even found in the definitions of the equipment itself.

With a track record in this area, Samsung will now have decided to turn back this script. His OneUI has ads in some places, especially in apps, but he always asked users for permission to display them.

It turned out that this advertisement needs to be completely removed. It was TM Roh, the brand responsible for mobile devices. The first app to see this change should be Samsung Pay, which will then be rolled out to other apps from the South Korean brand.

The solution was presented at a brand employee meeting, in response to an employee's question. TM Roh said Samsung will take into account the opinions of its employees and, in particular, customers who were against the practice.

It is currently unknown how and when this change will take place at Samsung. He will have to offer a One UI update, and his app is expected to be global rather than limited to the South Korean market.
