Major global brands are monitoring the growth of the electric vehicle market and adapting to their offerings. Renault was one of the first to take this step, along with the famous Zoe, who has achieved such success.

The French brand did not stop in the shadow of its proposal and can now present something completely new. The company’s next offering is Mégane E-Tech Electric, and it wants to compete with products from other brands in an increasingly active and exciting field.

It was at the Munich Motor Show Renault revealed his last sentence in the electric vehicle market. He took his well-known Mégane and used his CMF-EV platform to create a proposal that took inspiration from his Morphoz concept.

This is a car with smaller external dimensions and inside it has a very interesting corner. The new E-Tech reaches a length of 4.21 meters, a wheelbase of 2.7 meters, a width of 1.78 meters and a height of 1.5 meters, and a luggage compartment volume of 440 liters.

In terms of engines, Renault presents the Mégane E-Tech Electric with two offerings. The brand promises an autonomy of 470 km, but for a model with a 60 kWh battery and 218 hp. The most basic model has an autonomy of 300 km, with a 40 kWh battery and 130 hp.

In addition, there are some features that stand out, such as a 12-inch center touchscreen combined with another 12.3-inch screen that makes up a panel divided by an air outlet and is shaped like an upside-down "L".

In total, they offer a display area of 774 cm², 321 cm² for a 12.3 "screen (1,920 x 7.20 pixels) and 453 cm² for a 12" screen (1250 x 15.62 pixels). Of course, in the normal range, the size of a multimedia screen is 9 inches (1250 x 834 pixels, landscape format).

The OpenR Link infotainment system is based on the Android Automotive OS, which gives you access to the Google and Google Assistant apps. Renault says that on longer journeys, the system can help find charging stations that minimize travel time.

In the area of safety, Renault has unveiled the new Mégane E-Tech Electric. A QR code on the glass will allow firefighters to immediately receive information about this vehicle. Thus, they can know the location of batteries or other cells in order to act faster.

The new Mégane E-Tech is already in production and will go on sale in the first quarter of 2022. There is no official price yet, but it is known that it can start from 30,000 and 34,000 euros. The goal is clear and indicates what German brands have recently introduced.
