Portuguese live reporter complains about “little villains” on Av. Paulista

On Friday evening (August 28) during a live broadcast of the 360º newscast of the Portuguese channel RTP3, correspondent Daniel Catalan was disturbed by two boys while speaking live from the sidewalk on Av. Paulista.

The journalist suggested that it was an attempted robbery. “Get out of there, go there!” he said, pushing the intruders away from the transmission.

“We had rascals here, typical little boys who usually walk around here to try to steal smartphones,” he explained.

It wasn’t clear from the image if this was really a criminal act or just two teenagers trying to get on TV or interfere with the team’s work.

It is a fact that pedestrians who move along the famous São Paulo Avenue suffer from the frequent activities of minors who commit theft and robbery, especially from mobile phones.

An unusual moment on RTP3 reinforces the image of Brazil abroad, where violence reigns and which is potentially dangerous for foreign tourists.

Daniel Catalan became angry at young people who allegedly tried to rob him during a “live broadcast”.
