Portugal is one of the four European Union (EU) countries with the lowest number of daily covid-19 deaths per million inhabitants in the past week, dropping from sixth to seventh among the Member States with the highest number of new daily SARS cases. CoV-2.

In terms of the average number of new daily cases per million inhabitants over the past week, Cyprus is at the top of this indicator, with 5050 cases, followed by Ireland (4770), France (3950), Greece (3430) and Denmark (3400). These countries are also the countries with the highest daily average number of new cases within seven days of any country or territory with a population of more than one million.

Cyprus is also the EU country with the highest average daily tests per thousand inhabitants (126.66). while Portugal is the fifth member state for this indicator, an average of 22.39 tests per thousand inhabitants per day.

Portugal averaged 2,390 new cases per day per million inhabitants for seven days, higher than last week in 2030.

In the European Union, the average is 1,830 new cases per day this Monday (up from 1,170 last Monday), while globally it stands at 307, also up from 184 last week.

The five Member States with the lowest number of new daily cases per million inhabitants in seven days are Romania (248), Poland (324), Hungary (393), Slovakia (586) and Germany (587).
