Politician accused of raping granddaughters was a powerful LP operator and said he was close to Bolsonaro – Joaquim de Carvalho
This Sunday, during the PL convention to formalize Jair Bolsonaro’s candidacy for re-election, there will almost certainly be speeches in favor of the family.
But what will certainly be left off the meeting’s agenda is the case of former leader José Renato da Silva, who was removed from the party’s vice-president after he was accused of raping his own granddaughter.
Auliciki Bolsonaro will be able to say that José Renato was a minor figure in the party and far from the one who occupies the Planalto Palace.
Error.

The party joined by the evangelist Michel Bolsonaro had (and perhaps still has) in the person of José Renato an influential person whom Valdemar da Costa Neto trusted.
He was so influential that in 2017 he headed the interim commission Muda Brasil, which Valdemar da Costa Neto was trying to create as an annex to his own party, the LP, then called the Party of the Republic.
Muda Brasil had one goal: to shelter Jair Bolsonaro in his project to run for president.
On behalf of Valdemar, José Renato even arranged for Bolsonaro to meet with political leaders to present a draft presidential candidacy.
Muda Brasil has become an alternative to the hackneyed LP, associated with corruption due to Valdemar da Costa, who spent a season in prison.
With Muda Brasil, Bolsonaro’s alliance with Valdemar was preserved, but without showing his face.
At that time, Bolsonaro was Lava Jato’s partner in an anti-corruption speech, and, speaking hand in hand with Valdemar, would have debunked this farce.
Now accused of raping his granddaughters, José Renato da Silva was close to the Bolsonaro family, as he himself stated in the Folha de São Paulo “Group” column.
“Former public relations director Valdemar Costa Neto José Renato says he still “cannot talk to anyone” but acknowledged a connection to the Bolsonaro family. ),” the Group wrote without being denied.
José Renato applied for registration of the party to the electoral court, but was unsuccessful. In October 2017, TSE abandoned its creation.
The party failed to verify the authenticity of the signatures of many supporters.
It was from there that Bolsonaro negotiated with the Patriotas and then with the PSL, with whom he signed an agreement to participate in the 2018 elections.
Last year, Bolsonaro renewed his alliance with Valdemar da Costa Neto, this time without the screen of José Renato da Silva.
But José Renato would certainly have been at the convention in Maracanazinho this Sunday if he had not been nominated in April for the rape of his granddaughters.
The case could have remained secret if the girls had not told the school authorities about the abuse they were subjected to at home.
At the time, her mother, Cynthia Renata Lira da Silva, was on a trip to Egypt, and her grandmother, wife José Renato, took the initiative to find a women’s police station.
Cynthia supported the children and told the police that she herself was raped by her father when she was 6 years old, around the age of her daughters.
When the case became public in the city of Susano, one of the electoral strongholds of Valdemar da Costa Neto, Cynthia broke her silence and spoke out on Instagram.
“Courage, which I did not have as a daughter, I had as a mother (…) Sexual abuse not only robs us of our self-esteem, it makes us feel humiliated, it destroys any ability to move,” she wrote.
“In the end, there are meaningless comments that hurt the soul: “Leave it alone, and everything will be resolved soon.”
Finally, he declared, “Our cocoon time is up. It’s time for us to flutter like free butterflies.”
The city’s politicians know that exposing the case has been more difficult for Renata than one might imagine, as she holds a trusted position in the mayor’s office, the position of administration secretary, at the behest of her father.
José Renato da Silva, who was not arrested, was not seen in Susano. He will be in Guarareme, another city under the influence of Valdemar da Costa Neto.
The PL chairman did not make any statements regarding the indictment of his politician.
José Renato has been removed from his position as Chief of Staff of the PL leadership in the Assembly, and there appears to be a movement to have the matter forgotten.
Bolsonaro also did not comment. The Aulikians could once again object: what does he have to do with it?
Nothing directly, but it cannot be denied that all of them, including Bolsonaro, made up a single team. And that was a long time ago.
Bolsonaro’s brother, Renato, was a ghostly employee of the São Paulo Legislative Assembly, working in the office of deputy Andre do Prado, from the same group as Valdemar da Costa Neto.
When the case came to light in April 2016, he received a salary of 17,000 reais, about the same salary as José Renato da Silva, who also held a trusted position by appointing André do Prado in the PL’s leadership office – at that time still with the old name PR.
When the scandal with his brother Renato became public, Jair Bolsonaro, then a federal deputy, said he had nothing to do with it. “If my brother commits a crime, does something stupid, that’s his problem, he won’t have my support, let him blow himself up.”
What can now be said with certainty is that the political connection that guaranteed Renato’s position as Maharaja in the Assembly was not with this one, but with Jair Bolsonaro.
A bond that has never stopped and that will reach its climax this Sunday when the PL officially nominates Bolsonaro.
Muda Brasil was just a fantasy to keep things the same and was run by a man who played politics when he wasn’t abusing his daughter or granddaughters. Tomorrow, your former fellow believers will surely cry out in the name of God, family and country.

The dollar continues to reflect the political scenario
Yesterday, financial agents evaluated the opposite decision of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) regarding the so-called secret budget. In addition, a decision was made by STF Minister Gilmar Méndez to issue an injunction that would exclude the Bolsa Família from the spending cap rule, with investors trying to understand how this measure would affect the processing of the transitional PEC in the Chamber of Deputies. Oh this PEC!!!!
Since he is an exchange investor, any reading that the budget will be exceeded or become more flexible will negatively affect the exchange market, whether through the PEC or in any other way. We will continue with volatility today.
Looking beyond, the US Central Bank (Fed), although slowing down the pace of monetary tightening at its December meeting, issued a tougher-than-expected statement warning that its fight against inflation was not yet over, raising fears that rising US interest rates will push the world’s largest economy into recession.
The currency market continues to react to political news. The voting on the PEC is saved for today. It is expected that it will indeed be reviewed to open the way tomorrow for discussions on the 2023 budget.
For today on the calendar we will have an index of consumer confidence in the eurozone. Good luck and good luck in business!!

The EU has reached a political agreement on limiting gas prices – 19.12.2022
The agreement was approved by a supermajority at a ministerial meeting of member states in Brussels, Belgium, after months of discussions about the best way to contain the rise in natural gas prices in the bloc caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. .
The value set by the countries is well below the proposal made by the European Commission, the EU’s executive body, in November: 275 EUR/MWh. However, the countries leading the cap campaign were in favor of an even lower limit, around 100 EUR/MWh.
Germany, always wary of price controls, voted in favor of 180 euros, while Austria and the Netherlands, also skeptical of the cap, abstained. Hungary, the most pro-Russian country in the EU, voted against.
The instrument will enter into force on 15 February, but only if natural gas prices on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange exceed 180 euros/MWh for three consecutive days. In addition, the difference compared to a number of global benchmarks should be more than 35 euros.
Italy, the EU’s biggest supporter of the ceiling, has claimed responsibility for the measure. “This is a victory for Italy, which believed and worked for us to reach this agreement,” Environment and Energy Minister Gilberto Picetto tweeted.
“This is a victory for Italian and European citizens who demand energy security,” he added.
Currently, the gas price in Amsterdam is around 110 EUR/MWh, which is already a reflection of the agreement in Brussels – in August the figure even broke the barrier of 340 EUR/MWh.
However, Russia has already threatened to stop exports to countries that adhere to the ceiling. (ANSA).
