The agents are investigating whether the events, which involved the 24 people, were part of a plan or were spontaneous actions leading to the flight and illegal entry of some immigrants into the country.

Government delegate Aina Calvo said today that “all scenarios are open,” explaining that “there is no information to suggest” that this was a planned operation.

However, this “has never happened before,” he said, noting that such actions “endanger air traffic.”

At about 7:00 pm on Friday, a Moroccan airline Air Arabia, which was flying from Casablanca to Istanbul, landed in the capital of the Balearic Islands to help the 32-year-old Moroccan passenger, and a group of 24 took the opportunity. leave the plane, which led to the interruption of air traffic.

The Government member emphasized that Palma Airport is an “international health airport” and therefore it is normal for such a boarding request for medical emergencies.

At the moment, 12 people have been detained, nine of whom tried to escape, one more – for an attempt to attack the civil security in the same plane, the passenger who asked for medical help, and the one who accompanied him.

As usual in other similar cases, the medical team helped the patient on the plane and confirmed that he needed to be treated in the hospital, so he was transferred to the Son Llatzer hospital ward in Palma.

There he underwent a medical examination, soon after that he was discharged from the hospital and arrested for illegally entering the country.

The Moroccan passenger who accompanied him to the hospital fled as soon as he arrived at the medical center, but was subsequently detained.

So far, no one has sought political asylum, the government delegate explained.

Calvo met with the leaders of the National Police and the Civil Guard this morning to analyze the situation.

The official made it clear that these citizens have arrived in Spain illegally and will therefore be sent back to their country when the judicial authority determines this.

Police sources told the Spanish news agency EFE that the migrants will be accused not only of illegally entering Spain, but also of disturbing public order.

Passengers who took off on the runways violated flight safety rules.

The remaining passengers and crew of the plane were identified and the flight resumed after midnight on Friday.

A government delegate supported the aircraft commander’s decision to make an emergency landing after being informed that the passenger was not feeling well.

Another issue is that this whole procedure should be revised, he added.

Balearic President Francine Armengol wrote on Twitter that “what happened cannot be repeated,” and urged the competent authorities to study the protocols.
