Konami will make a difference this year.

In the fight against FIFA, Konami may be preparing a bold bet on the PES series.

While we haven’t seen anything specific about PES 2022 yet, unofficial sources suggest that the game will be presented as a free game, taking it to the next level, which is usually presented in a free alternative version called Lite.

In the video below, at 21 minutes, VGC members comment on Konami’s current situation and what the Bloober Team agreement might mean for a company that seems to have forgotten about its main series, with the exception of Pro Evolution Soccer.

At this point, Andy Robinson comments that he was informed from his sources about Konami’s intention to shake things up a bit and how she presents the annual games to fans. According to him, PES 2022 will be presented for free and will radically change the series.

After years of providing free versions of its games through PES Lite versions, Konami could go even further and make PES 2022 a free game that anyone can play, supported by microtransactions in modes like MyClub.

Aside from the move to Unreal Engine, this could be the biggest change in Konami’s PES series, which has struggled for years to regain greater popularity ahead of EA Sports’ FIFA series that has dominated the market for years.
