The myth of “isolation”, which the Brazilian press has so much, even fiercely defended, and which has been embraced by many leaders around the world without hesitation, and which so many millions of humble people have deprived themselves of their livelihoods, is gradually being dispelled as the numerical values ​​of the results are displayed and interpreted.

In Europe, only one country – Sweden – did not accept the “close everything” logic. This left schools, commerce and industry open. This did not impose the use of masks: use whoever wants. It goes without saying that the Swedish health authorities have come under fire from their European counterparts for not accepting “isolation”. It should be noted that although Sweden refused to be “isolated”, it suffered from a virus that was much milder than the virus that plagued the Czechs and the Portuguese, who adopted the toughest restrictions. Only Greece, out of four countries with an equal population, performed better than Sweden, the only country that did not “shut it down”.

Vaccination rates in the four countries were very similar. Almost a coincidence. Perhaps the best result in Greece is due to the fact that he chose Janssen’s vaccine in a single dose that works faster. But it is clear, and the reader only sees it here, because the “big press” is hiding that “isolation” has nothing to do with the viral march.

Much has been said about the number of Covid deaths in Brazil. We reaffirm that this is the worst part of a pandemic, as nothing is more irreparable than death. Brazil’s impressive number of deaths have been widely exploited for political reasons, mostly by groups interested in undermining and overthrowing the government, ultimately disrespecting the pain of others.

The reader must have already noticed that TV presenters (I repeat) are almost pleased to announce mortality and almost hide the decline in mortality when it does. The emphasis is on the absolute number of deaths, politically and shamefully, rather than a proportional number, as it should be. After all, we are the sixth most populous country in the world, and it would be childish or dishonest to ignore this fact when mentioning our dead from Covid.

We were greatly influenced, and it’s tragic, but we are not the second country in terms of the relative number of deaths, as the “funeral press” assures us, always using absolute numbers. Peru has twice as many deaths per 100,000 inhabitants as Brazil. They lost proportionally more of their children than Brazil, even Hungary, Bosnia, Czech Republic, Macedonia, Montenegro and Bulgaria, which this press hides. This does not include data from Russia and China, which are unreliable because they are hidden by their dictatorial governments, and from India, which also decided to hide them in some way.
