OPEN SPACE – Political illiteracy | Newspaper Folha de Londrina
We know functional illiteracy: the inability of a person not to understand simple texts, even if they can write. Today in Brazil there is political illiteracy of the whole nation, even among people with higher education. An attempt to explain to such people in general terms that anyone who disapproves of the right is a communist, and anyone who disapproves of the left is a fascist.
The great creator of communism, Karl Marx, was an unfortunate German exiled by three countries because of his ideologies, among which he predicted that: 1) capitalist workers would be increasingly poorer; 2) the middle class will be liquidated and become part of the proletariat; 3) increased mechanization would reduce the profits of capitalism.

Communist Marxists, through their activities, which included propaganda, assassination, terrorism and revolution as a means of coming to power, as well as many brutal repressions and bloody persecutions, have kept the world in turmoil for decades and have caused an estimated 100 million deaths in the past. Easily verified. But in Brazil, socialism is almost always associated with communism.
On the other hand, people who do not belong to the left are called fascists. The regime established in Italy from 1922 to 1945, based on the dictatorship of one party, with nationalist exaltation and with cooperativeism replacing the democratic regime. An absolute dictatorship was formed based on the triple cult of obedience, absolute leader and state.
It is sad to say that the divisions between the parties fighting for power in Brazil have more to do with corruption on the one hand and ignorance on the other than with the right or the left. Meanwhile, the country lost due to lack of education, security, health care and housing. We are floating on a fantastic island of ignorant dreams, and everyone suffers from it.
It should be remembered that social democracy is increasingly inclined to abandon communism in favor of democratic socialism.
The Scandinavian social democracies, founded in Denmark in 1878, Norway in 1887 and Sweden in 1889, have remained in power almost without interruption since the world crisis between the two wars and are today among the most successful countries in the world.
So one thing is one thing, and another thing is another. Ignorance divides the country into good and evil. But who is good? Who is evil? Are people capable of being judges of this case?
Research confirms the polarization between the two candidates. One of them is a federal deputy with 27 years of experience and had 2 approved projects (two). He submitted 170 proposals, including a proposal to end the use of social names for transvestites and transsexuals.
Another candidate who says: “There is no living soul in this country more honest than me.” Of course, because what he has, he earned it by the work of a metallurgist, and then a politician. The rest, as a reward for his integrity, Jesus sat down beside him and multiplied, as he did with the two fish and the five loaves. According to Mark, Matheus, Joao and Lucas, they fed 5,000 people and left 12 full baskets for the apostles.
As the popular saying goes, in Brazil we have a simple man who talks, a few wise men listen, and many, many fools argue.
Perhaps here I am more among the fools, because my concern is huge, with the upcoming elections, with 4 children, 7 grandchildren, although I already know 25% of the world, seeing that Brazil, for being it, can be the path of progress for Australia and Canada, and we are closer to the suffering of Egypt, the internal divisions of Lebanon and the poverty of expression in Cuba. Like fools we all know, only the wise learn something every day.

The dollar continues to reflect the political scenario
Yesterday, financial agents evaluated the opposite decision of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) regarding the so-called secret budget. In addition, a decision was made by STF Minister Gilmar Méndez to issue an injunction that would exclude the Bolsa Família from the spending cap rule, with investors trying to understand how this measure would affect the processing of the transitional PEC in the Chamber of Deputies. Oh this PEC!!!!
Since he is an exchange investor, any reading that the budget will be exceeded or become more flexible will negatively affect the exchange market, whether through the PEC or in any other way. We will continue with volatility today.
Looking beyond, the US Central Bank (Fed), although slowing down the pace of monetary tightening at its December meeting, issued a tougher-than-expected statement warning that its fight against inflation was not yet over, raising fears that rising US interest rates will push the world’s largest economy into recession.
The currency market continues to react to political news. The voting on the PEC is saved for today. It is expected that it will indeed be reviewed to open the way tomorrow for discussions on the 2023 budget.
For today on the calendar we will have an index of consumer confidence in the eurozone. Good luck and good luck in business!!

The EU has reached a political agreement on limiting gas prices – 19.12.2022
The agreement was approved by a supermajority at a ministerial meeting of member states in Brussels, Belgium, after months of discussions about the best way to contain the rise in natural gas prices in the bloc caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. .
The value set by the countries is well below the proposal made by the European Commission, the EU’s executive body, in November: 275 EUR/MWh. However, the countries leading the cap campaign were in favor of an even lower limit, around 100 EUR/MWh.
Germany, always wary of price controls, voted in favor of 180 euros, while Austria and the Netherlands, also skeptical of the cap, abstained. Hungary, the most pro-Russian country in the EU, voted against.
The instrument will enter into force on 15 February, but only if natural gas prices on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange exceed 180 euros/MWh for three consecutive days. In addition, the difference compared to a number of global benchmarks should be more than 35 euros.
Italy, the EU’s biggest supporter of the ceiling, has claimed responsibility for the measure. “This is a victory for Italy, which believed and worked for us to reach this agreement,” Environment and Energy Minister Gilberto Picetto tweeted.
“This is a victory for Italian and European citizens who demand energy security,” he added.
Currently, the gas price in Amsterdam is around 110 EUR/MWh, which is already a reflection of the agreement in Brussels – in August the figure even broke the barrier of 340 EUR/MWh.
However, Russia has already threatened to stop exports to countries that adhere to the ceiling. (ANSA).
