Newspaper | In ES, Marina Silva criticizes the manipulation of faith by politics
The evangelist, a former senator, lamented the political use of religion in elections; she was in Vitoria for Lula’s election campaign (PT)

Visit to Espirito Santo this Thursday (27) to ask for votes for the former president Lula (RU) and for the governor Renato Casagrande (PSB), former senator, former environment minister and federal deputy elected by São Paulo Marina Silva (Rede) has criticized the candidates’ political use of religion.
She noted that there is a legitimate demand for the participation of all sectors of society in the political space, and with evangelicals, for example, not otherwise, also because there are a large number of believers among the Brazilian population. Although the desire to participate is considered legitimate, she stressed that the state is secular and should be treated as such.
“We are a secular state, and in a secular state there is a state policy for all sectors of society. When you think about public policy, you do it for those who believe, for those who don’t believe, for those who are evangelical, for those who are Catholic, for those who have an African denominational faith. (…) God has no respect (affection) for people. The secular state also does not respect individuals.”
Marina, who attends the Assembly of God, also denied claims that Lula intends to close churches, mindful that the PT presidential candidate signed a pledge in this sense in order to reassure the faithful, although it was never planned to close religious temples, as the president’s supporters say Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who is seeking re-election.
“Now what demystifies this lie and slander the most is that if we were to do a poll how many times the same people who are now saying that the President Lula going to close the church, these are the ones who went to the palace to pray with the president, meet the president and sanction the gospel day, the law of religious freedom. And, obviously, our religious freedom for all people is protected most of all by our Constitution“.
“I see that we have to be very careful. Firstly, not to treat evangelicals as if they were homogeneous. It is not. Even in the evangelical world there is diversity. And, secondly, not to treat all people as if they were fundamentalists.” They were too. But we cannot but say that there is a strong manipulation of politics for faith and faith for politics, which is not good either for faith or for politics”

•Elected as a federal deputy. Former Senator and former Secretary of the Environment
“We never thought that we would have to fight for something already consolidated”
In an interview, the elected federal deputy, who ran for president three times – most recently in 2018 – said that democracy is under threat and that it must be preserved and the right to difference protected.
“This country is going through a situation that we never thought could happen after we won our democracy. Today we must fight for what, as we have already imagined, has been consolidated. Suddenly Bolsonaro comes and wants to deprive the Brazilian people of the ability to sovereignly elect their representatives.”
He added: “We have learned our lesson. When democracy is under threat, we need everyone to go through this transition. When it is mothballed, we will continue the conversation. We need everything. We want a movement of reconciliation. From Brazil with you. From Brazil with other people. With me from Brazil.
“The interview (Bolsonaro) looked like a speech about defeat”
As for the former minister, the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), is “in despair” and therefore claims to have been harmed in radio advertisements, less than 1% of the total.
“The interview he gave was like an opening speech about defeat. If he thought that the Armed Forces would act to avoid a second round of elections… I hope the top officers never fall into such a gamble.”
“There is no talk about the position of the ministry”
Travel around the country with events to support LulaMarina Silva, who was once environment minister, said there was no talk at the moment of returning to a possible PT government and said that the campaign period is not a time to defend positions, but to defend proposals. .
“We are having a program discussion. that the president Lula they say that he will create a ministry of indigenous peoples, that he will reopen the National Secretariat for the Protection of Women’s Rights, and in this moment of hatred and violence against women, this is more than appropriate. And that the policy of combating racism and racial inequality will continue.”
Marina, who was politically distant from Lula in previous years, he also commented on the recent convergence. However, he emphasized that the personal bond between them was never broken.
“We never severed our personal connection. But due to political differences, we were separated. On September 11, we had a long personal conversation. A personal conversation is a personal conversation. But I can say that it was such a good personal conversation that it spawned a public conversation in which he committed himself to the most advanced environmental policy in Latin America for a sustainable development project that fights inequality, strengthens democracy and protects the natural foundations of our development. ”
In Vitoria, the redist received a letter of commitment signed by representatives of non-governmental organizations, among other things, in support of environmental action.
According to Marina, the departure of Audifax from the Web was in favor of consistency
During a visit to Vitoria this Thursday (27), Marina Silva also commented on the exit from Audifax Barcelos sustainable development networks. The former mayor of Serra, who ran for the state government as a party but was not elected, decided to support Carlos Manato (PL) in the second round of dispute.
“Audifax was a great mayor of Serra and I usually say that we should not rewrite the history of the people. The thing is still beautiful because it was made by someone I don’t agree with. One thing is still true because it was done by someone I don’t agree with. I don’t usually rewrite history. He was an excellent mayor of Serra. We had disagreements on this issue (leaving the Network, supporting Manato). And because of this discrepancy, he understood (that it would be better) to leave the Network, and for us this has a price, but this is the price of maintaining consistency.
Congratulations to Lulu and please vote
After the interview, Marina went to Praça dos Desejo in the capital, where she took part in “LulaDay”, an event organized by the PT Campaign Coordinator in Espirito Santo, on the same day that Lula turns 77 years old.
The elected federal deputy participated in an ecumenical act with Evangelical and Catholic Christian religious leaders, and shortly thereafter, in the same place, in a political act Lulain which congratulations were made to the candidate and requests to vote for him and the candidate for re-election to Espirito Santo, Governor Renato Casagrande (PSB).

The dollar continues to reflect the political scenario
Yesterday, financial agents evaluated the opposite decision of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) regarding the so-called secret budget. In addition, a decision was made by STF Minister Gilmar Méndez to issue an injunction that would exclude the Bolsa Família from the spending cap rule, with investors trying to understand how this measure would affect the processing of the transitional PEC in the Chamber of Deputies. Oh this PEC!!!!
Since he is an exchange investor, any reading that the budget will be exceeded or become more flexible will negatively affect the exchange market, whether through the PEC or in any other way. We will continue with volatility today.
Looking beyond, the US Central Bank (Fed), although slowing down the pace of monetary tightening at its December meeting, issued a tougher-than-expected statement warning that its fight against inflation was not yet over, raising fears that rising US interest rates will push the world’s largest economy into recession.
The currency market continues to react to political news. The voting on the PEC is saved for today. It is expected that it will indeed be reviewed to open the way tomorrow for discussions on the 2023 budget.
For today on the calendar we will have an index of consumer confidence in the eurozone. Good luck and good luck in business!!

The EU has reached a political agreement on limiting gas prices – 19.12.2022
The agreement was approved by a supermajority at a ministerial meeting of member states in Brussels, Belgium, after months of discussions about the best way to contain the rise in natural gas prices in the bloc caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. .
The value set by the countries is well below the proposal made by the European Commission, the EU’s executive body, in November: 275 EUR/MWh. However, the countries leading the cap campaign were in favor of an even lower limit, around 100 EUR/MWh.
Germany, always wary of price controls, voted in favor of 180 euros, while Austria and the Netherlands, also skeptical of the cap, abstained. Hungary, the most pro-Russian country in the EU, voted against.
The instrument will enter into force on 15 February, but only if natural gas prices on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange exceed 180 euros/MWh for three consecutive days. In addition, the difference compared to a number of global benchmarks should be more than 35 euros.
Italy, the EU’s biggest supporter of the ceiling, has claimed responsibility for the measure. “This is a victory for Italy, which believed and worked for us to reach this agreement,” Environment and Energy Minister Gilberto Picetto tweeted.
“This is a victory for Italian and European citizens who demand energy security,” he added.
Currently, the gas price in Amsterdam is around 110 EUR/MWh, which is already a reflection of the agreement in Brussels – in August the figure even broke the barrier of 340 EUR/MWh.
However, Russia has already threatened to stop exports to countries that adhere to the ceiling. (ANSA).
