Apple today announced that the Unleashed event will take place the following Monday, October 18th. While the company hasn’t confirmed the content of the event, the new MacBook Pro will almost certainly play it.

A few days before this event, we have some very interesting information about the screen of the new MacBook Pro. All indications are that the new laptops will have the same screen as the iPad Pro.

MacBook Pro with Mini LED 120Hz Refresh Rate

The data, provided by on-screen analyst Ross Young, points to the inclusion of a 120Hz refresh rate, as well as the use of mini-LED technology, widely promoted by other analysts in the Apple world.

Yes, the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros will have mini LEDs, and we believe they will also come with a 120Hz refresh rate.

This will be possible because Apple will use the same technology found in the iPad Pro. The vendors will be the same as the related technology, resulting in a better display on the MacBook.

If the inclusion of a mini LED screen was almost a matter of course, the surprise was its 120Hz refresh rate.

It remains to be seen what refresh interval the new MacBook Pros will be eligible for. This detail was omitted by Ross Young, but given that it will have the same technology as the iPad Pro, it is expected to fluctuate between 24Hz and 120Hz.

This means that the screen will refresh 24 or 120 times per second depending on what content is being displayed. For the user, this will result in a smoother viewing when the screen reaches its maximum refresh rate.

According to various rumors, there will be two models with a screen of 14 and 16 inches. In addition to better case utilization in the smaller model, we will have a move to Apple Silicone processors.

All indications are that the M1X will be presented, equipped with 10 processing cores and 16 or 32 graphics cores. This will be a significant leap from the current M1 found in the 13-inch MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.

All details will be specified when these computers are presented. The event kicks off at 6:00 pm in Lisbon and you can watch it live on Youtube, the Apple website or Apple TV +.
