Nani Holdings, which represents Lone Star in Novo Banco, refuses to publicly disclose the contracts of the bank headed by Antonio Ramalho.

The decision was made public during the hearing of former Banco de Portugal governor Victor Constancio by SDP MP Alberto Fonseca.

“A few minutes ago, we learned that Nani Holdings does not accept disclosure of contracts,” the MP said at the beginning of Vitor Constancio’s interrogation this Friday, noting that the decision was “regrettable”.

According to Alberto Fonseca, “Nani Holdings prefers to continue to maintain this regime of opacity and disregard for the Portuguese, which only reinforces Portuguese distrust of this trading business.”

“We are not going to refuse to disclose” the Novo Banco contracts, he said, which he considered “more than legal”.

It was while listening Eugene Kazarez, president of Nani Holdins, said PSD had asked him to authorize the disclosure of Novo Banco’s contracts. The party then sent two petitions to Nani Holdings and the Dispute Resolution Fund asking them to make the documents public, admitting that confidential information had not been released. According to the Social Democratic MP, the fund, which is run by Maxim dos Santos, has not yet responded. But Nani Holdings has already stated that it will not accept the request.
