“My mom is a fighter, she always was and remains”
NOn two shows, at Coliseu de Lisboa and Multiusos de Guimarães, which will mark his 10-year career in 2022, David Carreira gave an intimate interview to TVI “Jornal das 8”.
When asked about his resemblance to his father, Tony Carreira, from whom he inherited his musical talent, David claims that he identifies much more with his mother’s personality.
“I am in many ways like my mother, I have maternal strength, resistance. My mom is a fighter, she always was and remains“says the musician, who recently saw his mother, Fernanda Antunes, and the whole family go through a period of great pain.
However, Tony’s father is still a key player in his life. “My father is my best friend. We have a violent relationship, ”he guarantees.
In December 2020, the Carreira family suffered a major blow. The youngest daughter of Tony Carreira and Fernanda Antunes, Sarah Carreira, died at the age of 21 in a tragic car accident.
