A telephone poll conducted by Ponteio Politics from November 16 to 18 with 1,000 respondents nationwide puts former judge Sergio Moro (Podemos) at double digits (11%) in the 2022 presidential race for the first time.

The poll also explored scenarios without some of the best preliminary candidates. Without Jair, Bolsonaro Moro won 18% of the vote, and Ciro Gomes – 11%.

In an intention to vote, stimulated in the first round, Moro appears with 11%, ex-President Luz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) leads the way with 37%, President Jair Bolsonaro (no party) with 24% and Ciro Gomes (PDT) with 8 %.

In the second round, the poll captures the current polarization between Lula (50%) and Bolsonaro (32%). The viewing error is 3 pp. More or less. Still in the second round without João Doria and without Ciro Gomes, Moro is gaining 12% and 13%, respectively.

For the political scientist Jairo Pimentel who conducted the study, Moreau could be an alternative for those who do not rely on Lula or Bolsonara. Ponteio’s partner, Pimentel, says the poll is an indicator that space is being created for so-called third path candidacies.

“We still don’t know if the Lula / Bolsonaro polarization will be broken, but the growing number of votes held by Moro is illuminating a yellow light in the Palácio do Planalto, as the wear and tear of the Bolsonaro administration tends to benefit the former judge’s candidacy. Who controls Lava Yato.” – emphasizes.

Ponteio is a company that is entering the political arena of information, analysis and statistical modeling and will officially launch on Tuesday 23. Besides Pimentel, it has a team of journalists, political scientists and consultants such as Ricardo Ribeiro, Juan. Bosco Rabello, Adriano Seolin and Rafael Magallains.
