On the agenda in Recife, Pernambuco Mayor and Provisional Government Candidate Miguel Coelho (DEM) visited the PSL national president Luciano Bivar this Monday (10). Members of the future União Brasil party, the two politicians talked about building lists for federal and state MPs, and the majority dispute in the 2022 election. The meeting was also accompanied by Federal MP Fernando Filho (DEM) and one of the PSL leaders in Pernambuco, Marcos Amaral.

DEM and PSL are due to receive Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) approval for the merger in February. Thus, the new acronym will become the largest party representation in Brazil. In Pernambuco, the União Brasil aims to elect five to six federal MPs in addition to ten state MPs, forming the benches of large representation in the National Congress and Legislature.

Strengthening the new party also implies the formation of platforms for governor candidates. According to Bivar, there is already an understanding of União Brasil’s candidacy for the state government in all regions. “We’re in the middle of discussing plans, seeking support, and building a group of leaders to present projects in multiple states. This process has already been advanced in Bahia, Santa Catarina, Pernambuco and six other states. Therefore, União Brasil was born as a great force that will help our country to move forward, ”underlines Luciano Bivar, who will lead the new legend after the official registration with TSE.

At the end of the meeting, Miguel Coelho said that he intends to revitalize the agenda with a large number of leaders and look for new talent for União Brasil. “We want to help elect as many federal and state deputies as possible and, of course, discuss a new project for Pernambuco. União Brasil will undoubtedly become a strategic party to govern the political future of our country and Pernambuco, ”said the Mayor of Petrolina.
