Almeria have appointed an Argentine goalkeeper who has risen to the top level.
This Thursday the Spanish press appointed Agustín Marchesin to Almería. According to the newspaper Voz de Almería, Porto’s Argentine goalkeeper is the main target – the “number one option”, as they say – of a club that has risen to the highest level. An option most likely to be implemented during this closed season. At the moment, there is interest and supply, but nothing is 100 percent closed.
If the transfer is confirmed, Marquesin will be loaned to the Spanish club this season, with the agreement including a mandatory purchase option if Almeira guarantees league permanence and the goalkeeper plays 70% of his games. According to journalist Pedro Sepulveda, the amount of the loan with a call option is one million euros.
Marquesin, 34, has one more season on his contract with Porto. Last season, he lost the title to Diogo Costa, due to which he played only nine matches.
Signed from the Americas in 2019/20, the goalkeeper made 84 appearances in his first two campaigns with a dragon on his chest.
