White House spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany declined to confirm or deny reports that several White House employees have tested positive for coronavirus.

“Have any White House employees recently tested positive for coronavirus?” John Roberts of Fox News asked McEnany at a briefing Wednesday.

“I don’t share people’s personal health information,” McEnani said.

Trump says he did everything he could to slow the spread of coronavirus

Roberts noted that McEnany has been contacted in the past when employees have tested positive for the virus. “Why change?” he asked.

“I’ve seen reports there, but again I’m not here to reveal the identity of people. In the past, when I discussed the case, unfortunately, this man’s name was leaked to the media, ”the spokesman replied.

The White House press pool was reportedly informed that several employees tested positive for the infection on Wednesday. Chief of Staff Mark Meadows was asked about the reports earlier Wednesday, but he also declined to comment.

The message came a day after President Trump met with three world leaders to sign a historic Middle East peace deal.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain were present to sign two deals – one between Israel and Bahrain and one between Israel and the UAE. Trump signed up as a witness.

Trump was also in Philadelphia on Tuesday night at the ABC Town Hall at the National Constitution Center.

McEnany was asked about the president’s remarks about the herd mentality, which probably meant herd immunity theory. She explained that herd immunity “was never a strategy” at the White House.

“Our strategy is to get the vaccine,” she said, expressing confidence that it will be approved and “widely available” by the end of the year.

Trump on Tuesday told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that the coronavirus “will go away without a vaccine … within a period of time.”
