SAO PAULO – It was surprising that Luisa Helena Tranajo, Chairman of the Board of Magazine Luiza, received the news that Time magazine has chosen one of the 100 most influential people in the world. “I was told 15 days before publication. I didn’t know this list was so important, ”said the chief executive on Friday (17).

However, information that former President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva (2003-2010) would be the author of his profile for publication was not disclosed in advance. “The magazine didn’t ask me anything. It struck me as odd because there are usually interviews, right? “, – he explained. “I didn’t know that a politician would write it. Since February, when we started working with Unidos pela Vacina, I haven’t talked about anything with politicians ”.

At a press conference for the Time magazine nomination, Luisa Traiano reiterated that she will not run and that her work across the country will continue to be associated with Grupo Mulheres do Brasil. “Twe are a group out of 95 a thousand women. We’ll have a play, but not anyway [na política]”he ruled.

Louise Helena’s next agenda

As the Unidos pela Vacina program, created by Louise Helena in February 2021, draws to a close, Mulheres do Brasil has three main projects to undertake. With an eye on the 2022 elections, one of them will defend that women have 50% of the political seats.

Another project is a major strategic plan for the country from 2022 to 2032. “We are creating a strong group that will deal with education, health care, employment and housing,” said Luisa Traiano.

The third project concerns increasing investment in science. The goal is to support and invest in health research.

“I never blamed others for Brazil not working and I always thought I could help,” he said of his speech in the country.
