Lewis Hamilton eyes pole in sunny Barcelona

Championship chief Lewis Hamilton posted the quickest lap in ultimate follow for the Spanish Grand Prix

The globe winner, who holds a 30-point title guide more than Pink Bull’s Max Verstappen, finished .151 seconds obvious of Mercedes staff-mate Valtteri Bottas.

Verstappen was third, 50 percent-a-second down on Hamilton, and in advance of McLaren’s Carlos Sainz and Racing Level driver Sergio Perez.

And they will head into qualifying keeping a healthier advantage over the relaxation of the pack, with Hamilton and Bottas primed to contend pole position for the sixth time in as many rounds this year.

The one-hour session was purple-flagged in the final couple of minutes just after Esteban Ocon crashed out in his Renault.

The French driver slammed his automobile into the wall on the exit of convert a few in a bid to stay away from the slowing Kevin Magnussen.

Ocon emerged unscathed from the curious incident but he experienced ample destruction to the entrance of his Renault.

Requested by his staff to explain what transpired, Ocon reported: “I permit Magnussen earlier mainly because he was on a timed lap and then he decelerated.”

The incident is below investigation by the stewards.

Elsewhere, Ferrari’s Charles Lelcerc finished sixth, with Sebastian Vettel only 12th, 1.5secs slower than Hamilton, and fifty percent-a-next off his crew-mate.
