Leading up to an election year, Lula is demanding the restoration of parliament.

With the 2022 elections approaching, former President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva said this Saturday (25) at a meeting with movements from the São Paulo periphery that next year’s elections would go beyond that and demanded a parliamentary reconstruction. “If we elect a president, we need deputies and senators to help us do what needs to be done in the Senate,” he said.

“Today we have a Chamber of Deputies and a Senate, which from an ideological point of view seem to me the worst in a hundred years,” Lula said, criticizing the current composition of Congress.

During the event, the PT also showed that it stakes on conquering a younger electorate. Lula stated that everyone over 16 must obtain a voter registration card in order to vote and participate in the political process.

The party’s national president, MP Glazy Hoffmann (PR), also made statements in the same vein. “We need to raise awareness among young people. He must be involved in the political process, he must be in political organizations and political parties, and he must be involved in the electoral process, ”he said during the opening of the event, announcing that the party is starting a campaign to encourage youth to register to receive the title. …
