Kathryn Dennis responds to racism

“Southern Charm” star Kathryn Dennis believes that her fight with activist Mika Gadsden has been “blown out of context.”

The reality star wrote on Instagram that Sunday night he was “freakin (sic) broken hearted and very depressed because the way I was described was completely untrue !!!”

Earlier this month, the 28-year-old player exchanged with Gadsden about the “Trump Boat Parade” which was planned to be thrown by a local business in Charleston, North Carolina.

Dennis’s argument about whether supporting the current president makes his racist quickly turn into racial harsh words. Based on Buzzfeed, Dennis sent Gadsden 28 messages calling him “psycho” and messages that have monkey emojis.

“I use the emoji all the time because it looks silly and awkward and that is my basic line,” wrote Dennis. “The account is anonymous. I do not even know who I sent the message ???? And now I’ve labeled all these crazy things and that’s not true. And that is not fair. “

There was already an impact for Dennis. Last week he was suddenly dropped as a brand ambassador for a clothing store based in South Carolina.

“As a minority-owned business, Gwynn and our employees are dedicated to serving all members of our community. Kathryn Dennis’s comments and statements to Tamika Gadsen cannot be denied [sic] don’t reflect the Gwynn brand values. Previous affiliations as brand ambassadors are periodic and contract based. We stand in unity with people of color and with reasons that strive to end injustice, ” Gwynn from Mount Pleasant wrote on Instagram last Wednesday.

Dennis promised that he would “make a complete statement tomorrow” but felt compelled to write “because I can’t stand my character being destroyed.”

“Please be patient and know that this is not true,” he concluded.
