The Roma coach, without naming names, shocked one of his players in a 1-1 draw with Sassuolo by saying that he told the athlete to leave in January. Later, the Italians from Corriello dello Sport said that it was about Rick Karsdorp.

José Mourinho ruined the game of the Giallorossi player after the draw on Wednesday between Roma and Sassuolo (1:1) in the 14th round of Serie A. Without naming names, the Portuguese coach condemned the “unprofessional attitude” of the athlete and said that he advised him to find a new club in the January market.

Later, Italians from Corriello dello Sport said that it was Rick Karsdorp, a Dutch right-back who did not show a particularly successful game in the match.

This Thursday, however, Karsdorp’s agent Johan Henckes reacted to Mourinho’s words with great displeasure, demanding satisfaction.

“I am surprised by Mourinho’s statements, I want an explanation. We fail to understand what everyone is saying they were about Rick. [Karsdorp], but neither Mourinho nor Roma mentioned his name. We demand an explanation from the club about the words of the coach and how they were said,” he assured the Dutch newspaper NOS.

Signed in 2017 from Feyenoord, Karsdorp, 27, has made 11 appearances this season for Roma, currently sitting 7th in Serie A.
