State MP Julio Arcoverde (Progressistas-PI) said it was normal for parties opposed to the state government to downsize. The statement of the elected federal deputy was connected with the speech of the deputy Julio César Lima, who, when GP1stated that the SDP under his chairmanship would receive mayors from other acronyms, including Progressives.

Arcoverde said the movement is part of a political game and that political parties and leaders generally prefer to go with the ruling group rather than the opposition.

“It’s okay to have [redução dos quadros]because it has the fragility of people who always want to be in the ruling party. But so far no mayor has told me to leave [o PP]🇧🇷 We know that the life of a political game is such when there is an expectation of victory – there is a group, when not – there is a group that is more fragile in relation to political life,” the deputy said.

Julio Arcoverde said that despite possible casualties, a group of Progressive mayors will travel to Brasilia next week for an audience with the Chief Minister of the Civic Chamber, Senator Piaui Ciro Nogueira (Progressives).

“Next week many mayors will travel with us to Brasilia. They will hold hearings in ministries and with the Chief Minister of the Civic Chamber. I no longer see speculation in the press,” concluded the elected federal deputy.
